Serving Those Who Served Their Country

At The Phoenix Charity, we provide veterans with expertly trained Loyal Service Partners and companion dogs, empowering those who have served to overcome physical and emotional challenges. These Battle Buddies, carefully chosen for each veteran, offer unwavering support—whether guiding veterans through daily tasks, easing the weight of trauma, or restoring a sense of independence and hope. Funded by generous community support, each companion is provided at no cost to the veteran; embodying our commitment to honor veterans with the life-changing gift of a faithful Freedom Dog.

Meet DOC

Doc is an American Lab and serves as our founder's personal service dog.

Doc has been on the road with Marty throughout 2025 visiting Kentucky, Texas, Virginia, Maryland & Washington, D.C.

The quintessential service dog, Doc helps to show the younger pups the ropes of The Phoenix Charity.

Meet CLAIRE

Claire is a German Shephard donated by one of our partners, PSD Kennels of Poplarville, Mississippi.  Claire had a refresher course with Marty and was received by Iraq War Veteran, Roger.

We wish Roger and Claire all the best!

Good girl, Claire, good girl!

Meet KHAN

KHAN was donated by PSD Kennels of Poplarville, MS to The Phoenix Charity. This silly, sweet Belgian Malinois has been placed with first responder, Morgan, to aid in her mobility as she navigates her medical journey with Multiple Sclerosis. Best boy, Khan!

Meet PHOENIX

Phoenix began as our mascot for the Charity and personal service dog to our president, but God had different plans for this little lady!

After completing her training, Phoenix

found her forever home with Mr. Sandy,

a Vietnam War veteran.

Who's a good girl? Phoenix is a good girl!

Meet WHOA

WHOA is the sweetest chocolate lab (and a very smart young pup)! Whoa has been assigned to a Vietnam War veteran as a companion dog. Mr. Terry received Whoa in September of 2025 and continue his education weekly with us here at The Phoenix Charity, weekly.

Meet FURY

FURY is a beautiful black lab female and is a sibling to Whoa & Doc. She's smart as a whit and has the nickname of "Wiggles" around these parts. She's very bright and loves to play fetch.

Fury is working towards her certification as a Therapy Dog and will soon be visiting the Veterans' Home & nursing homes, locally.

Meet Dug E Fresh

Dug E Fresh started as the charity founders' personal dog but God had other plans. Once we got wind of a civil servant who served as security for our Armed Forces had to put his dog down, we sprung into action.

Mr. Darryl received Dug E Fresh on January 4, 2026 and the sweet, silly corgi will be a companion dog for Mr. Darryl.

He's already settling in well with his grandchildren, too!

Meet SPIKE

SPIKE is the personal dogs of the charity's founders. Spike, the 12YO border collie, serves as our alpha of the pack.
